At its core, The Other People is a basic who-done-it, but the story is anything but basic. The whole locked house thing has been done before, but never quite like this.

Everett has tossed together a cast of ten-plus-plus characters, all from completely different backgrounds. What ties them together? Why were these individuals selected and placed in this house. What the heck is going on here? Everett gave some real personality to his characters; they helped me get invested into the story.

In any trope that readers have seen before it is important to separate yourself from the pack. The best part of The Other People was the twist – yes there is a twist, as well there should be in any great who-done-it. I honestly did not see that coming.

The Other People is a good who-done-it with some good characters and a shocking twist. Well worth the time.
