As soon as I finished reading From Air, I was adding this book to my to-be-read list. Having already been introduced to Maren Bernabe in From Air, I was looking forward to getting to know her better and watching her love story unfold.

Maren Bernabe is badass. Seriously. She works as an air tanker pilot, dropping flame retardant on forest fires. Her first love was flying, but when she has an awkward (but funny) encounter with an aircraft mechanic, well, perhaps there could be room for another love.

Ozzy Laster’s life has been anything but simple. He’s a single dad who lost his wife two years ago in a car accident, an accident that his daughter had survived. While he knows that he is lucky to have his daughter still with him, her life is guided by the trauma that she faced from the accident. Ozzy’s life is busy, filled with challenges, and striving to be the best father that he can be, he is not looking for a love interest, but sometimes life brings you just what you need.

There was nothing easy about Maren and Ozzy’s relationship, but how could it be. They faced a plethora of obstacles. Did I want them to overcome those obstacles? Absolutely. Was Ozzy’s daughter adorable and worth every hardship? Of course she was.

As always, Jewel E. Ann has written a story that made me laugh, made me cry, and made my heart beat a little bit faster. She always creates a wonderful cast of characters that make you feel as though you’re being reacquainted with old friends. From Nowhere was a great read from start to finish. My only hope for this series is that it continues with Will’s story. I really want Will to get his girl.
