2 Book Lovers Reviews

Emily Henry is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Funny Story was a novel that I wanted to read nonstop, but it was also a novel that I wanted to savor and make last for as long as I could. What a conundrum! I just adored the story, the characters, the setting, and I did not want it to come to an end, but all good things…

Daphne was getting closer to having that home and feeling of belonging that she had always wanted. She fell in love with the ideal man, moved into a new house in a lovely community, started a new job, bought a beautiful bridal gown, and her wedding was planned. Everything seemed to be perfect, but all good things…

Daphne’s fiancé, Peter, was always dependable, reliable, and organized. When he didn’t come home after his bachelor party, Daphne wasn’t too concerned, after all, this was Peter, he probably just got carried away with his friends. When Peter finally returned to their house the next day, he delivered a blow that Daphne had never seen coming. Peter confessed that he was in love with his best friend Petra.

With her life falling apart, Daphne now had to find a new place to live, and since Petra’s boyfriend now have a vacancy in his apartment, it seemed like it would be a good temporary living arrangement. While Daphne and Miles seemed to have nothing in common other than their broken hearts, they ended up making good roommates and friends.

I loved Miles Nowak. He was exactly what Daphne didn’t know that she needed. I loved every minute that Miles and Daphne interacted. They had a ton of chemistry, wonderful banter, and Emily Henry delivered it all in a slow-burn romance that made me a very happy reader. It was just what I had hoped that it would be.

Funny Story was an absolute delight to read. It had a great cast of characters, a captivating story, an intense romance, and depth. It was just the perfect well-rounded romance. I could not have asked for anything more!
