One missing persons case, how much trouble could it be? Well, for Carl Morck and his crew, more than you could imagine. This case exploded in more ways than one and I loved every minute of it.
With each book in the Department Q Series we are introduced to more and more characters. I love the way that this is done, as a reader it gives me time to get to know each one and not be overloaded with too many at a time.
The best part of the Department Q books are the personal interactions and banter between the characters. In The Purity of Vengeance, we get a frightening insight into Assad and Rose. These two key characters are both so much more than they appear. Sometimes it seems like these two are running Carl, instead of the other way around.
These characters revolve around a story; the mystery that Carl needs to solve. This one is a great one! It starts out small, but leads to places and people that go far beyond Carl and his small, yet effective team. Jussi Adler-Olsen never fails to surprise.
