2 Book Lovers Reviews
Reading Presently Perfect was like going back to my hometown and getting reacquainted with old friends. Present Perfect was among my favorite books of 2013. I fell in love with Noah and Amanda’s story right from the very beginning and I continued to fall deeper with every page of this book. I didn’t think that it was possible to like their story any more than I already did, but Alison Bailey has created two characters that have such a beautiful friendship and love that I couldn’t help but be swallowed up in the emotion all over again.
With every turn of the page, I was either smiling, laughing, crying, or highlighting all of my favorite lines. I think that I highlighted half of the book…and went through a whole box of Kleenex! Happy tears, sad tears, it didn’t really matter because what it all came down to was that she was able to write a book that evoked such strong emotions in me.
I loved how Noah and Tweet’s relationship started out at a young age. They were best friends, they grew up together, they celebrated life’s joys together, and they suffered through the hurt together. But through it all, they loved each other. I felt like I was witnessing it all firsthand and experiencing all of it with them. In Present Perfect, we knew that Tweet had her issues, hang-ups, and reasons for constantly pushing Noah away. In Presently Perfect, it is Noah’s turn to tell the story…and oh, what a story it is. All he wanted out of life was to love her, protect her, and make her happy…sigh.
It was very easy to see that the author wrote this story with every piece of her heart and her soul. I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to their story. The epilogue was pure perfection…the icing on the cake! Although I am sad to see Noah and Tweet’s journey come to an end, I am so glad that I was able to go along on the trip with them.
