This book was very difficult to read. Why did I have such a hard time with it? Well, it’s hard to read when you have to keep wiping your teary eyes!
I’m not even sure where to start with this review. This book was emotional, heartbreaking…and so well done. I lived through the pain along with the characters, I agonized, suffered and loved right along with them. When an author can pull at your heartstrings and make you feel all of the emotions that the characters feel, then that is a good book.
Katie experienced the unthinkable. Her whole life was taken away from her in the blink of an eye. How does someone recover from something so horrendous? Katie is fortunate that she has an extremely loving family to go home to and help her heal, but she is merely existing in her own silent world that is overflowing with guilt and pain.
Her guilt doesn’t cease to consume her when her first love waltzes back into her life. Parker McKenzie wants nothing more than to ease her pain and bring her back to life. He is the one person that seems to ignite a spark in Katie. He also reminds her of bad decisions that were made long ago that can’t be undone.
Kismet is a story about loss, grief, healing, family and love. It will touch your heart and make you want to go and hug your loved ones. It truly is a unique love story that will leave you thinking about it long after you have finished reading it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the author for writing such a beautiful and emotional book. Now I must go and read a comic book, watch some crazy cat videos, or squeeze a clown’s nose just to bring the happy back!
I will definitely be reading more by A.E. Woodward in the future!
