This is a great twist on the post-apocalyptic world. Like all good books in the genre, it is more about the human relations than about the apocalypse itself. Our “hero”, Alan Trent, is thrust into helping two strangers escape from a group of men who represent the depths of how bad people can be when the going gets tough. If they want to survive, Alan and his companions must learn to trust each other in a world where people only look out for number one.

Journal is a great story and I look forward to Buckhout growing as an author with his future books.
