Between the Pages captivated me from the very beginning and had me falling in love with Emerson and Finley’s story with every turn of the page. Once in a while, I am fortunate enough to read a book that just seems to strike all of the right chords with me.  Between the Pages is one of those books.

Good fortune had finally fallen upon Finley when she was approached by Emerson Whittaker and offered an opportunity to ghostwrite his next novel – his autobiography.  Even though Finley was determined to give up ghostwriting in order to write her own novel, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work alongside of one of her favorite authors and to potentially get her foot in the door with his literary agency…the paycheck he offered just sweetened the pot.

With Finley and Emerson working and living together in such close proximity, their work relationship quickly developed into friendship.  But along with their friendship came an attraction that both of them tried hard to ignore and deny, not only for the sake of their work arrangement, but also because Emerson had secrets in his past that hadn’t been revealed yet.  These secrets had the potential to ruin any relationship with Finley, romantic or otherwise.

“Because it’s a book that brought us together,

and it’s a book that will tear us apart.”

In my opinion, the best part of any romance novel is the tension, the chemistry, and the build-up of the feelings between the characters.  I want to feel the emotions along with the characters, to feel the intensity between them.  The author created this romantic tension perfectly.  I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

From the start, we were like two sticks of dynamite, strings tied together.  When we met, we sparked.  When we kissed…we exploded.

Between the Pages was exactly what I was looking for.  It was the type of book that I didn’t want to put down once I started reading it, and when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it, wishing that I could spend a few more moments losing myself in the story.  Amanda Richardson has written an intriguing storyline, complete with well-developed characters that I couldn’t help but become invested in.

I can only describe this book as romance done right.  Amanda Richardson has quickly made her way to the top of my TBR list.  I am looking forward to reading more by this talented author in the near future.
